What it is:
Natural reflex that pushes food forward from back of throat. Part of learning to eat!
Signs:

- โข Tongue thrusts forward
- โข Can still breathe and cry
What to do:
- โข Stay calm and observant
- โข Let baby work it out

What it is:
Food is blocking airway. Cannot breathe. CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY!

My baby is constipated - what should I do?
Common when starting solids! Offer more water, high-fiber foods (prunes, pears, peas, oatmeal), and "P" fruits (prunes, plums, peaches, pears). Reduce bananas, rice, and cheese temporarily. Call doctor if severe or persistent.
Should I make my own baby food or buy it?
Both are fine! Homemade is often cheaper and you control ingredients. Store-bought is convenient and safe. Many families do both. If buying, choose options with minimal ingredients, no added sugar or salt. Pouches are okay occasionally but don't rely on them exclusively.
When can baby eat the same food as the family?
